This year, 7500 tickets have been printed, and the first prize is 1004 Applewood Lane. There are runner-up cash prizes too! The money raised from the contest goes back into the community, so it’s a win for everybody.
Built by Kingston-based company, Home Valley Builders, this year’s dream house is impressive inside and out. On the exterior, the high peaks and white trimmed windows create appealing depth while the tasteful combo of textures adds to the country chic feel.
One of my favourite aspects of the exterior is the way in which the garage blends into the front of the house. On the function side of things, the 2-car garage is not only insulated and spacious but also features white carriage-style doors and windows keeping in tune with the crisp and inviting feel of the rest of the exterior styling.
The inviting atmosphere definitely continues on the inside of the house. Upon entering the foyer of 1004 Applewood Lane, you’ll be delighted at how the entranceway opens up into the open-concept living area and kitchen. I particularly loved the look of the vaulted ceiling in the main living area and how the rustic atmosphere is accentuated by the stone-detailed fireplace and the dark hickory hardwood floors.
While we're talking about the main living space, I want to draw attention to the kitchen. The kitchen is not only beautiful but also provides plenty of space for any type of food preparation. Whether you enjoy baking, cooking, or entertaining, the long quartz countertops will accommodate you. In addition to the counters on each wall, one of the main features of the kitchen is the island, complete with white and grey quartz. The rustic styling of the home hasn't been left out in the kitchen either, and there is a unique light fixture that adds a cozy feel to the bright accents. As part of the lottery, all of the appliances pictured will also be won with the house.
The main living area is definitely one of the main attractions of the 1678 square feet of the main floor, but it's worth noting that the bedrooms are also fantastic.
